Democracy
Freedom and Democracy are the cornerstones in America. I will continue to fight for the rights and freedom of every Texan. Gerrymandering and voter suppression damage democracy. Protecting our votes is priority.
This is Gerrymandering… SD24 is the TRex shaped district. It’s designed to suppress votes.
Voting Rights and much more
Voting: Despite exhaustive investigations and Audits done in Texas on our dime, there is NO evidence of any significant voter fraud. The Texas Secretary of State testified before our Legislature that we had secure and safe elections. There are many obstacles to a “Free” and “Fair” election in Texas which do not serve the people of Texas. We can find solutions to make sure every eligible voter can register and vote.
Reliable Power
Make sure Texans have a reliable power grid with consumer protection. I have 40 years of experience as an engineer. I have spent over half of my career making sure our telecom infrastructure is reliable for not only Texans, but nationwide, including 911.
Experts recently testified before the Senate and reported we have 60 year old equip on the grid.
Women's Rights
Women’s equality and Civil Rights are all Civil and Human Rights and must be addressed. It is long overdue for Texas Women to have Equal Rights. Protective Status should apply to more than the workplace. Healthcare is a personal & private decision. The right to accept or decline healthcare is everyone’s most basic right. I support a woman’s right to choose.
State Employees & Teachers
Making sure Teachers pay and benefits are competitive so that we hire and retain the educators Texas Children need. Working to make sure Teacher’s Retirement as well as State Employees have secure and funded retirements should be a priority in Texas. It’s been almost 20 years since state retirees have had a increase in pay.
Keeping Texans Safe
I will fight to make sure we support those that have served or are serving to keep Texans safe.
Cyber Privacy
Cyber Privacy are areas which are important to Texans. Our State Laws are behind the digital world, we need to make sure we are protecting Texans.
Foster Care
Our Foster care system is broken and has been under a Federal Judge Oversight for over a decade. Currently there are ~200 children in foster care with no where to sleep other than CPS offices – this has been an on-going issue for years. Last year >100 children died in Texas Fostercare.
WASTED TAX DOLLARS
- 10-15 Billion Federal $’s REFUSED by Governor EACH YEAR (which would provide Healthcare to millions of Texans) ; This is money we paid in federal tax $’s
- Thousands wasted filing a SCOTUS case FOR OTHER STATES
- $4 million on frivolous audit the Secretary of State reported was not needed
- In addition to safety, Foster Care AND Guardianships are funded by: State/Local dollars AND Title IV (Social Security Funds)
- Tax dollars allocated to Education and Mental Health care but diverted by the Governor
- $100 Million for Pregnancy Crisis Centers (Not staffed by licensed doctors or nurses)
- Millions of COVID funds diverted by the Governor
- Contact Tracing $’s spent by the Governor illegally in which there is pending litigation
- $14 Million and counting busing people, including children, who have obtained legal asylum status via the Federal Government
- Millions spent on International travel
- 4-5 Billion on the Border not supported by CBP Statistics and refusal to show receipts

Who I am
My name is Kathy Jones-Hospod, and I am running for Texas SD 24. I am an engineer and I am a mother to 3 grown sons.
I have 40 years of experience as an engineer. The majority of my experience was making sure our telecom infrastructure was reliable for not only Texans but nationwide, including 911. I know what it takes to build infrastructure. I bring a perspective to the Texas Legislature that combines engineering, business, leadership, and I especially bring to the table a woman’s and mother’s perspective. I live in Texas Senate District 24.

- Experts report that after a ‘blackout’, it could take weeks to bring the grid back online
- No efforts made to require a disaster recovery plan
- No efforts made to provide any consumer protection
